Hainan Huanghua pear is not only a legend, it will enter a new era with innovation and development
2024-03-20
There is a saying circulating in Hainan that the world's pears look at China, and Chinese pears look at Hainan. Since ancient times, it has been difficult to find a single tree, and the price is more than a thousand gold. This refers to Hainan Huanghua Pear (abbreviated as "Haihuang"). Firstly, it has its own characteristics: bright colors, pleasant aroma, clear texture, hard wood, and slow growth.
In the Hainan Huanghua pear industry, there are often stories of picking up big leaks and becoming rich overnight, which many people yearn for. But this field is more likely to make people's minds heat up and spend a lot of money buying inferior products. With curiosity and exploration in this field, the reporter interviewed Zou Hang, Vice President of the Hainan Huanghua Pear Society. A young man who looked like a neighbor, but studied under the Chinese master of arts and crafts, Ma Shuangming, has been deeply involved in the field of Haihuang for many years and is well versed in the innovative development of Haihuang.
The influence of my family has influenced me since I was young
Zou Hang's entire family, consisting of nearly 200 people from four generations, are engaged in the entire industry chain of Hainan Huanghua pear, including material selection, design, product selection, appraisal, and sales. Many of them have won various provincial awards. Zou Hang has been learning various skills from his grandfather, father, and uncle since he was young. He was admitted to the art and design major of Qiongtai Normal University, a century old university, with a crooked attitude, which added icing on the cake for him to engage in this job more professionally.
Starting from his freshman year in college, in order to have more pocket money, Zou Hang started working part-time as a "business" for Huanghua pears. He bought raw materials for Huanghua pears and then sold the processed products. He bought and sold them one by one, and the pocket money was thus obtained. President Zou recalled, "Back then, buying and selling were really easy. When I was in school, I used to play around and usually made fast-moving consumer goods. Most of the goods could be sold on the same day, and I could get some money. I felt that the goods were very easy to sell back then! If the goods couldn't be sold for a week, they would have been stored for many years." Regarding the current market situation of Huanghua pear, he admitted that due to the impact of the epidemic and people's increasingly rational consumption concepts, fewer and fewer people had "hot minds", and there is no "leak" to pick up in the Hainan Huanghua pear market now! There are very few really old ingredients in the market, so it's better to be cautious when buying them.
After graduating from college, Zou Hang officially entered the Huanghua pear industry and opened his own shop. Later, the young people seized the opportunity of the rapid development of the Internet. From e-commerce sales to online live broadcast, the revenue from new media can account for about 80% of the total revenue. He also established his own circle through the Internet and became a very famous KOL in the industry.
Zou Hang said that he loves the sea yellow industry very much because he loves it. He puts a lot of effort into it. For him, this is a relaxed and comfortable job, where he looks at materials, buys materials, cuts materials, makes furniture, makes handicrafts, communicates with the industry, studies relevant policies and development directions, drinks tea... Although it may seem easy, his years of hard work and accumulation make him say, "Their field is a niche industry, and most customers need to communicate and maintain it for more than 5 years. Gradually, they trust each other, become long-term partners, and even good friends in life."
Living in this world, one must always do something meaningful for society
At present, Zou Hang cares about and wants to do three things: cultural inheritance, industrial development, and product innovation.
Starting from his sophomore year in college, influenced by his family, he has been exposed to the field of handicrafts since childhood and has also participated in social practice. The teacher arranged for him to take substitute classes in the arts and crafts major, teaching the design concepts of handicrafts to senior students in their third and fourth years. At the same time, he combined his practical experience in the field of sea and yellow to explain the current market situation and development prospects of handicrafts. But what he talked about the most was that every person engaged in handicrafts must first respect and respect the 5000 year culture of the Chinese nation and the craftsmanship left by their ancestors, and then think about how to use the culture and craftsmanship they have learned to support themselves and their families, and live a good life. As a college student, the design concept is definitely not as good as a professional designer, and the craftsmanship is not as good as carpentry. The thinking mode is also far from professional operation... At this time, it is necessary to put down the identity of a college student, go to do odd jobs, sell goods, and integrate knowledge from various fields in practice. Only after graduation can one have the ability to eat this bowl of rice.
President Zou will also take advantage of all publicity and promotion opportunities, such as the Cultural and Consumer Expo, to showcase his carving skills, tell history, and stories, so that more people can understand the culture of the Yellow Sea. He will help unfamiliar people overcome the misconception that the Yellow Sea can only make people "dizzy" and "overnight rich".
Due to resource scarcity, it is very difficult to achieve industrialization in the field of Haihuang, but this is Zou Hang's goal. He starts with "refinement", for example, if there are not many "old materials" and large furniture cannot be made, then he makes small cultural and creative products. Zou Hang has designed a signature pen that is not made of many materials, but is very representative and practical. It has become a special invited exhibit of the Boao Forum for Asia. This type of pen can be mass-produced, but it needs to be purely handmade. There are 11 factories in production, and one factory can produce about 50 pens per day. Currently, the supply is in short supply. President Zou said, "We will also design some small pieces of jewelry, and we are trying to industrialize and mass produce them. At the same time, we will also integrate sea yellow elements into various product categories, such as glasses, mobile phones, study treasures, and even cars. I believe this is also a cultural inheritance and promotion, and the future of industrial development."
Zou Hang said, "Hainan is vigorously building a free trade port in Hainan. The international market requires more rigorous products, and some domestic products need to be improved or redesigned to better enter the international collection circle. Therefore, we need to combine the innovation, cultural and creative industry, and foreign market of our products. Why can LV phone cases be sold for more than 30000 yuan? Our high collectible value Huanghuali phone cases cannot achieve this value? Huanghuali's raw materials are much more expensive than cowhide! At the same time, we can also engage in international cooperation in multiple fields. For example, Herm è s and Cloisonne have collaborated to produce ashtrays, and both parties have innovated their products, generating profits. This has become a trend for future development, and it is also our goal." Integrating the innovative development thinking of the Free Trade Port. At the same time, we also need to integrate culture, introduce advanced international cultures, conduct deep processing, innovate new cultural and creative products, and then export products. At this time, we are not only exporting products, but also exporting culture, such as integrating elements of Chinese Peking Opera, calligraphy and painting into products, and transmitting Chinese culture to the world. We are located in a advantageous geographical location like Hainan, and my integration idea with the free trade port is to 'bring in, go out', introduce talents and culture, and more importantly, people should go out, culture should go out, and products should go out. I want to use the innovative development of Haihuang to help China's culture, intangible cultural heritage, economy, and the development of Hainan Free Trade Port
For many years, Zou Hang has been adhering to the concept of "craftsmanship inheritance and industrial innovation", focusing on inheriting and innovating the development of Hainan Huanghua pear art industry. We are committed to allowing every enthusiast of Haihuang to experience the unique beauty of Haihuang, allowing Haihuang to return to its true nature and enter everyone's life. He hopes that the Haihuang culture can better go global and promote it!
